The night-fighting G-4 was the final production model of the Bf110, and was built from January 1943 through February 1945, with production totalling 1,850 examples. Early production aircraft had four MG17s in the nose, FuG202 radar, and vertical stabilizers identical to the G-2. Following this, numerous variations in nose antenna configuration were seen depending on the aircraft's radar equipment. In order of production, these were the FuG202, the FuG212 in tandem with the FuG220 SN-2b, the FuG220 SN-2c only, the FuG220 SN-2c with four base poles, the FuG220 SN-2d which had the dipoles rotated 45", and the FuG2l8. In addition, a few aircraft had the FuG227 passive radar system installed. This unit, rather than emitting its own energy. would locate enemy planes by detecting their radar emissions.
