I have read a lot of Michael Jackson biographies since his death, some of which were re-hashes of things others had already published. This one is quite different and I was very pleased with it. This book covers the 1970s and early 1980s, up to approximately the time of Thriller. There is a lot of information here about Michael's early days that I hadn't read before. It is mainly culled from magazine interviews and articles -- so if you happen to have read all those early-days articles, you may not get as much from this as I did. But if you're more familiar with Michael since Thriller onward, you'd probably really enjoy this book for a glimpse into the early Michael.
