Before Motown's release of Share My Love in 1973, Gloria Jones was primarily known as the co-composer of soul classics such as My Mistake by Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye and If I Were Your Woman by Gladys Knight & The Pips, along with her northern soul classic Tainted Love. Her one solo album for Motown - while not a major seller in its time - proved to be a deep soul favorite here, and is now respected as ahead of its time. 'This music is free, honest and sincere,' Gloria explains. 'I was searching to understand my life's purpose and so pleased that Berry Gordy allowed me to explore my ideas.
