Also known as the Queen of Dancehall, Lady Saw is a reggae legend with platinum plaques and a GRAMMY award to prove it. My Way is her eighth solo album since 1994, and she can still rock a party like no other. Fifteen tracks deep with hardly any guest features (just Eve on the man-stealing jam "He's At My House" and Ding-Dong on "I Can't Wait"), Saw shines on every selection here, especially the single "Party Till December" and "Crazy Love," which showcases her vocal versatility, singing, toasting, and doing straight-ahead talking that all sounds great. She leans on the AutoTune a few times, but her voice is so strong it's clearly just for effect rather than necessity. Lyrically it's not as risqu? as some of her earlier hits, focusing more on love than straight sex, but still maintaining the mischievous humor and subtle innuendo. Another top-notch release from the pioneering icon.
